The Tahlequah Regional Development Authority’s mission is to advance and environment through partnerships which preserves, attracts, and promotes business growth in the Tahlequah community.
Cherokee Nation
The Cherokee Nation puts its citizens and their well-being before anything else. They work alongside local businesses to provide workforce training and career services. They offer assistance in job placement, career building, and training.
Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce
The Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is an organization with a mission of supporting and promoting business within Tahlequah and the surrounding area. With over 375 members, TACC strives to help all businesses in the area grow and prosper.
City of Tahlequah
The City of Tahlequah is an incorporated city in the county of Cherokee and state of Oklahoma. Tahlequah is a council strong government, meaning the council votes to approve or deny items and the Mayor serves as a tie breaker. The City promotes a strong business climate in the community. Their development and permitting process has and is continuously evolving to better serve businesses and help them get to market as fast as possible.
Tahlequah Public Works Authority
The Tahlequah Public Works Authority (TPWA) owns and operates the electric and water/wastewater systems in Tahlequah. TPWA continues to win awards such as "Best Tasting Water" and provides consistent power to the community. TPWA purchases their power from the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA).
Northeastern State University
Northeastern State University (NSU) is one of two institutions of higher learning in Tahlequah. They provide opportunities in Information Technology and Business to one of the top Optometry schools in the country. NSU continuously creates top level employees for our local businesses.
Cherokee Nation Innovation Hub

Indian Capital Technology Center
Indian Capital Technology Center (ICTC) has campuses in Tahlequah, Stilwell, Sallisaw, and Muskogee. They offer training opportunities in many areas for local employers. They also are able to partner with local businesses to create training programs or support existing programs that will create a high quality, skilled workforce for local businesses.
Explore Cherokee County
Explore Cherokee County uses a 4% lodging tax collected from lodging entities outside of the city limits, but within Cherokee County. Cherokee County has two lakes, Lake Tenkiller and Lake Fort Gibson, and the beautiful, nationally known Illinois River. Explore Cherokee County works in conjunction with other local promotional businesses to bring people into the county for reacreation and relaxation.
Tour Tahlequah
Tour Tahlequah is a department of the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce. They use a 4% lodging tax collected by the City of Tahlequah to promote and advertise the community. They provide itineraries for tours, support for conferences, and opportunities for those looking to visit. Tour Tahlequah has a focus of promoting businesses and attractions in the city limits, but partners with other entities to bring people into the area.
